Crash Barrier

Crash barriers or safety barriers are protective structures installed alongside roadways to enhance road safety by reducing the severity of accidents. They are designed to redirect or absorb the impact of a vehicle that veers off the road, preventing it from colliding with hazardous obstacles or other vehicles or from falling into steep valleys in hilly terrains. Crash barriers are primarily installed to safeguard motorists and passengers from severe mishaps. They establish a physical barrier between the roadway and surrounding hazards, such as steep slopes, trees, medians, or structures.

The spectrum of crash barrier types integrated within roadway and highway projects: W-Beam Steel Barriers, High-Tension Steel Cable Barriers, RCC Barriers, Bollard Barriers for pedestrians

Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) crash barriers are frequently adopted complement to RS Walls to enhance safety and stability in transportation infrastructure projects. The RCC crash barriers are connected to the RS Wall through embedded steel reinforcement. This reinforcement ensures a strong connection between the barrier and the soil structure. Care is taken to ensure proper alignment and connection between the barriers and the reinforced soil structure.

RCC crash barriers contribute to the overall stability of the RS Wall by withstanding lateral forces generated by potential collisions. It is important to note that the design and construction of RCC crash barriers in RS Walls may vary depending on local regulations, project requirements, and site-specific conditions. Consulting with qualified engineers and following applicable design standards is crucial to ensure the proper implementation of these safety measures.
